ALWAYS THE RITE SOUND WITH METEO |
Hello Again, My name is Meteo.
The program entitled “Always the Rite Sound”, hosted by Meteo, will be coming soon to O88fm. The program will focus on topics mainly related to audio. This page will act as a supplement to the program, where you can relate to what had been discussed on the program and hopefully it will be beneficial for you to tackle most of the common problems pertaining to audio.
Of all the years, working as broadcast Engineer dealing with sound system, I noticed that the most common problem encountered is Feedback. You advanced the volume control, but before you go anywhere near the desired level, howls, whines and whistles broke loose. I believe most operators of sound equipment have had some sort of experience such as this.
With speakers that speak up and well into the microphone things aren’t too bad, but the so called “mumblers” that think the microphone is just there for decoration, are just impossible to pick up. However, you may have visited another hall where there seems to be no problem; there is plenty of volume and no feedback. Now, how do they do it? Is it your equipment at fault, is it just you or what?
Honestly, Feedback cannot be avoided, but it can be reduced to manageable levels – IF YOU KNOW HOW. That means knowing (have you seen the movie “Knowing” starring Nicholas Cage?) how it occurs, what effects it, and what inhibits it. We will look at all these factors more in the program “Always The Rite Sound”, coming soon to O88fm, for there is no one simple answer.
